Timely and interesting article that not only outlines the optics of funding disparities between New York City’s PTA’s, but also discusses the issues as they play out in other cities across the country and what school districts are doing to address them.

By the end of this year, the DOE is required to publish data on how much PTA and PA’s are raising and to provide demographic information for each of the PTA’s schools. While anticipating the likely story of inequity this data will highlight, we should also be brainstorming what solutions for better #resourceallocation can come from this inevitable conversation.
