Last night the New York City Panel on Educational Policy took an important step towards reducing school segregation by agreeing to consider removing a harmful and inaccurate footnote from Chancellor’s Regulation A-101 identified in New York Appleseed’s Within Our Reach series. Public comments included powerful student and educator voices from IntegrateNYC4me and statements from Rene Kathawala and David Tipson of New York Appleseed. Earlier this year diversity advocates from across the city signed a letter calling for the footnote.
